Exhibition: ‘Skin&Feminism’ at Calder Bookshop

‘Skin & Feminism’ is an event featured with speakers and discussions on how skin is a political feature of feminism to celebrate the International Women’s Day 2018. Whether it’s your skin colour, your experience of your ethnicity in the Western world, wearing animal fur or checking your privilege based on your skin colour it is uncontestable that skin is a constant feature of the subjective feminist experience.
The guest speakers include White feminism, Asian feminism, Chinese feminism, mixed race feminism and colour. Some photos of Honest You also featured on the event to showcase female portrait without makeup .
Exhibition: ‘Red Room’ at South Kiosk Gallery

Some photos of Honest You project have been exhibited at the Red Room Exhibition in South Kiosk gallery in London on 27th March. Red Room features the work of 14 artists and designers from the Visual Communication and Information Experience Design programmes at the School of Communication, Royal College of Art, who have been involved in a two term elective called Design Without. Sandra So, one of the students who organised this exhibition, decided to include art works from guest artists, which made it possible for Karen to showcase some of the photos of Honest You in a gallery for the first time.
Radio Show: ‘Me, Myself and I’ with K2K Radio

On 25th January, Karen Liu has been invited as one of the guests by the online radio show ‘Me, Myself and I’ to discuss the Honest You project as part of its debates on feminism and the cosmetics industry. During the one-hour show, the hosts Jane Manning and Geoff Payne talked about some latest political and social issues with the guests. ‘Me, Myself and I’ is a radio programme focuses on music and politics on every last Wednesday of the month.
